Deaf Camper South East
Being our first camp that we have organised,
this was a real learning curve for Viccy and Nadine.
We enjoyed seeing so many of you and
the unexpected high number of members that came.
o
High water at the River Thames
We were unfortunate that It was a very windy and rainy start to the weekend which made it difficult to set up our units.
Caravans were rocking on the motorway, it was scary! Tents and gazebos could not be erected until Friday afternoon!
The river Thames was very high, the banks and walkways were covered and we could not walk down near the river.
o
Amber Alert
The flood warning was raised to Amber alert on Friday afternoon
and we were advised to stay close by in case we needed to move our units!
o
o
Friday evening
Gaming Darts
We had a game of killer darts!
We were lucky to have a large common room to congregate in
and were able to socialise in the warmth.
Some members went to the pub in the evening.

Took a walk
The weather continued to be dry and sunny for the rest of the weekend.
Sunday, the day was spent with the majority going to
either Brooklands (car museum) or for a long walk
at Virigina Waters – some people did 6 miles! Well done!
Sunday afternoon, we had an afternoon of quiz and games.
The quiz
Questions about Easter, was won by the youths!
We met in the pub in the evening.
Last day – Bank Holiday Monday
At 10am, we had a coffee morning and we were sad to say farewell to everyone.
Thank you again
We really look forward to seeing you all again in October
to join with us a second rally.
(The details for our second rally to be followed asap)
