2023 DCCCN Rally No.02 – Haverigg, Millom, Cumbria

Rally report from Deaf Camping & Caravanning & Club North (DCCCN) – May 2023

Great sighting from the harbour
We stayed at the Harbour Lights Campsite in Havering with 16 units,
and the site was pleasure nice with great weather all over the long weekend!

Journey on the Cumbria Coast Railway
We enjoyed on an intimate journey along one of the forgotten coats of Britain
to arrive the Whitehaven Railway station from Millom station.
The single journey took over an hour with a great sighting the Cumbria countryside and sea.

Kite Flying at the Havering Beach

The sandy beach is huge as a five miles long and wide expanse
of backed by tall dunes with opening to all winds from East.
This beach is always very quiet even though there is a campsite behind the dunes.
We have rarely seen more than a couple of dozen people on it
at any one time this weekend, so perfect places for the Kite Flying!

Evening Socialising
Every evening at the campsite we all surrounded the fire pit
with some fun, games, and bingo with eating & drinks.

Barbecue for more inspiration
Enjoy the sunshine of Spring Eve and make the most of
feeling of summer with our delicious barbecue and beers too!
(Do you know the summer season begins on 21st June?)
Do I look like a tall man? – yes, because of the hot day – that’s true!
Same thing in Paris on a hot day, the Eiffel Tower grows taller!
The tower is constructed from iron and when this is warmed it expands,
causing the structure to grow by up to 17cm.
