DCCCuk Annual Holiday
First day of arrivals were battered by high winds and heavy rain
as more wet weather made its way across the Wales.
These won’t be all-day soakers all week,
but there was a chance of some isolated rain.

DCCCuk’s flag
Unfortunately our flag was ruined to fail our attract attention by a wet weather,
a time for us to have a new flag before our forthcoming 50th Anniversary next year.

Newgale Campsite
Great site right by the bay, and easy to take a walk along the coast,
climb the hills and take in the views or just grab a pint at the local.

Coast to Coast
One of our members, Terry did his driving
from his home to our DCCCuk’s campsite as
his route was “Coast to Coast”.

The Duke of Edinburgh
Nice pub on site The Duke of Edinburgh that serves good wholesome hot food.
Every nights deaf all together in the whole room.

Search reviewed & tested general knowledge quizzes at the pub
with entertainment was hosted by Derek Rowley.

Visiting around the Pembrokeshire

Some of our members visited some various their own planning through
glorious natural attraction, vibrant towns and villages, culture and creativity.
Some members returned from their outings and shared with us
about what they saw or learnt something today – see below.

St David’s Cathedral
 Oh yes and the smallest city in Britain, St Davids – amazing 1,500 years old cathedral.
Thousands of visitors annually who interest to explore this magnificent building,
and they do not charge an entry fee and it costs over £2,700 a day
to run maintain St Davids cathedral.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Path
A 17 walkers along coastal path, up & down amazing scenery of
coastal beaches 5 1/2 miles to harbour Solva,
and stayed there for a nice lunch at the pub.
Only 3 of them walked back, and the rest of the walkers returned by a bus.

Pembroke Castle
Henry VII was born in January 1457 at
this Pembroke Castle, and died in 1509 (aged 52) at Richmond, London,
and buried in the Westminster Abbey, London.

Tenby
A harbour town and known for its 13th-century town walls and
it stretches of sandy shoreline, including castle Beach, now the ruins
of Tenby castle are on a headland overlooking the harbour.

Fishguard
Fishguard is a town steeped in history,
known as the site for the battle of The Last Invasion.
Wikipedia’s explanation of the Last Invasion, is quoted
‘The Battle of Fishguard` was a military invasion of Great Britain
by Revolutionary France during the War of the First Coalition.

RMS Mauretania
In Welsh, Abergwaun means “the mouth of the River Gwaun”.
An famous Cunard Ocean Liner  was the world’s largest ship until
the launch of RMS Olympic in 1910, it was visited here 57 times.

Haverfordwest
Only most populous urban area in Pembrokeshire with
an picturesque little market town built on a hill overlooking the River Cleddau.

Pembrokeshire Sunflower Farm
Mountain Farm is a working farm with over a million flowers in 7 acres,
not in France, they are in Pembrokeshire near Broad Haven.
Little Haven / Broad Haven

The quaint village of Little Haven is on the west coast
of Pembrokeshire at the southern end of St Brides Bay.
An old fishing village with a good deal of charm and character,
with later development as a small port for the export of coal.
Broad Haven and Little Haven together form the Havens community,
Broad Haven is a village and seaside resort.

Newgale Surfs
On last day there was a finally dry warm day,
some went surfing on the sea.

Farewell
We all went through heavy rain, gales which rocked our camping vehicles,
lots put away awnings no gather up in gazebo outdoors too windy,
didn’t dampen our holiday that is camping life, but it was a nice enjoyable week though.
Sorry no all get together photo group as some went home early
plus rained on morning of departure.
